Carson, CA — Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department homicide detectives are investigating after a second body was discovered near the Dominguez Channel in Carson within a two-day period.
According to information provided to The Carson Compass by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to the 2000 block of East Sepulveda Boulevard at approximately 8:31 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2.
Authorities identified the deceased individual only as an adult male. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Sheriff’s Department said detectives from its Homicide Bureau are handling the death investigation. No information has been released regarding the man’s identity, cause or manner of death, or the circumstances surrounding his death.
The discovery came just one day after another body was recovered from the Dominguez Channel in Carson, raising questions within the community about whether the two incidents could be related.
Authorities have not indicated that there is a connection between the deaths, and no cause of death has been announced in either case.
The Sept. 2 investigation is being overseen by the Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau under Lt. Christopher Oakley. LASD said there was no additional information available as of Wednesday.
