Carson, CA — The Carson Chamber of Commerce will welcome its 2026–27 Board of Directors during its Annual Board of Directors Installation on Friday, August 21, bringing together local business, civic and community leaders for an afternoon focused on leadership and Carson’s economic future.
The installation will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Carson, 2 Civic Plaza in Carson.
Assemblymember Josh Lowenthal, who represents California’s 69th Assembly District, will serve as keynote speaker. His presentation, titled “The Business Climate in the 69th Assembly District,” is expected to focus on issues affecting businesses and economic activity throughout the district.
The annual installation marks the beginning of a new leadership year for the Carson Chamber of Commerce, which serves as an advocate and resource for businesses throughout the city while helping connect the private sector with government, educational institutions and community organizations.
The Chamber’s incoming 2026–27 Board of Directors reflects a broad cross-section of Carson and the surrounding business community, with representatives from health care, education, manufacturing, hospitality, financial services, real estate development, entertainment and nonprofit organizations.
Members of the board include Jean Bell of the Dr. Charles E. Bell Patient Advocate Foundation; Ben Brower of Ineos Olefins & Polymers USA; Richard Chang of Tetra Graphics; Norwood Clark of Darrow’s New Orleans Grill; Andy Dilsaver of Morgan Stanley; Ralph Felix of California Water Service Co.; Lyman Fox of Kaiser Permanente South Bay; Rachael Hernandez of DoubleTree by Hilton Carson; Victor Ibarra of Marathon; and Trini Jimenez of Watson Land Company.
Also serving are Kubilay “Kubi” Karul and Christine Saavedra of SA Recycling; Tamala Lewis of Dignity Health Sports Park; Tami Lorenzen-Fanselow of Price Transfer; Derrick Mims of Cal State University, Dominguez Hills; Shannon Moody of Air Products; Kim Richards of Boys & Girls Club of Carson; Michael Stewart of M & B Associates; and Lena Whittaker of Magnificent Events.
The makeup of the board illustrates the range of industries that contribute to Carson’s economy — from major industrial employers and corporations to local restaurants, nonprofits, educational institutions and small businesses.
That diversity could be particularly significant as Carson continues navigating economic development, infrastructure needs, workforce development and the relationship between major employers and the surrounding community.
Lowenthal’s keynote will provide an additional opportunity for the business community to hear a state-level perspective on the policies and economic conditions shaping businesses within the 69th Assembly District.
The event also provides an opportunity for business owners, professionals and community stakeholders to network with Chamber leadership and representatives from some of Carson’s largest institutions.
The Annual Board of Directors Installation will take place Friday, August 21, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Carson.
